Yes. Dyopter Pro monitors movement and sends a notification or calls your phone. Your home WiFi can be used to avoid the need for networked data.
Dyopter is both a recovery and prevention device: with Pro, get notified when it moves; no matter the subscription you can track your bike if it goes missing.
Dyopter uses bluetooth and UWB (the technology behind airtag), but also has GPS and LTE: you can find your bike even when there are no Apple phones nearby, in rural or outdoors areas.
Approximately 1 watt when charging, less than the rear light itself draws. When you ride regularly, the battery is kept topped up and standby power is one hundred times smaller. The felt difference compared a regular rear light is minimal.
You can charge your light over USB-C, or simply by riding if you have a dynamo.
It can be. Every Dyopter ships with a SIM and a 3-year "hibernating" SIM card that can be activated on demand when a bike goes missing — no monthly fee. We're working with carriers to extend this.
The tracker emits a signal on a recurring basis. At close range your phone receives it directly via Bluetooth or UWB; further away, it's relayed over LTE or WiFi.
Yes. Dyopter works on e-bikes and can run off your main bike battery. Impact is negligible — Dyopter's own cell is around 50x smaller than a typical e-bike battery.
Dyopter is designed in Belgium and made in Europe with as many European components as I could find while keeping the price reasonable, with final assembly in my workshop. I write the code myself and our servers are hosted in Europe with OVH, a French provider. It has been used in Brussels and tested across Flanders, Wallonia, the Netherlands, northern France and western Germany.
No, but you can bring your own pre-paid SIM card. Dyopter is intended to use across the EU's free roaming area, which Switzerland is not part of.

Yes, we use screws, not glue. Spare parts are available and the standard 18650 battery is user-replaceable. A repairability score will be obtained for the final release.
UWB, WiFi and Bluetooth work in range with no cellular needed. SMS works wherever there's basic coverage.
Up to 6 months in standby on the internal 3200 mAh cell. With a dynamo you don't have to think about it.

The tracker is inside your bicycle light, and attached using tamper resistant nuts and bolts.
Dyopter is made from plastics, in order to allow the antennas to work. It is not intended to resist attacks.
Dyopter is currently standalone. In the future a connected lock and base station will be available, and we plan to implement a power output for charging your phone in V2.

Your key is sent to your E-mail used during the purchase, on the receipt, in the box as well as a one time code on the invoice the physical store you purchased the tracker at.
Dyopter can track a scooter or other light mobility device.

Dyopter is strictly reserved for tracking the owner. Want to see if there is a Dyopter on your bike? Look for the logo in the light or download our scanner app. this shares your location and notifies the tracker owner. If no action is taken in 48 hours, you will be notified if there is a tracker present.
